Drone
Drone - 2022-2023
My friend, Yakup Bağrıaçık, and I found a company that wanted to build their own drones. They approached us to construct and sell the drones, and we gladly accepted the opportunity. We began our journey by conducting extensive research on other drones and watching instructional videos on drone construction and flight principles. While we lacked prior experience with drones, we were familiar with gyros and already had knowledge of the PID algorithm. Armed with relevant documentation, we embarked on the process of building the drones.
During the initial days, we encountered numerous challenges. For instance, the drone's propellers were incorrectly positioned, causing it to flip, and the PID parameters were incorrect, resulting in unstable flight. However, we diligently worked through each problem, addressing them one by one. Eventually, we managed to achieve a modest level of stability for the drone. While it may not have been perfect, it was a significant improvement from its initial state.
Improving
After successfully achieving a stable drone, the company requested further enhancements, such as incorporating a barometer and implementing automatic take-off functionality. The barometer was chosen to ensure the drone maintained a steady altitude. However, we encountered a limitation with its speed, which prompted us to optimize it through programming. Over the course of 8 months, we diligently worked on refining the drone, and finally, it was deemed ready for sale to the company. Here are the specifications of our drone:
- Flight Stability: Achieved through PID control and optimized barometer implementation.
- Altitude Control: Utilizes a barometer sensor to precisely maintain the desired altitude.
- Durability: Robust frame design to withstand potential impacts.
